Phillipsburg bests Newton HWS Tourney
Andrew Martin scored 23 points for seventh-seeded Phillipsburg as it bested 10th-seeded Newton, 48-45 in Phillipsburg.
Josh Borelli hit four throws on the way to 10 points for Phillipsburg (9-8). Newton had a 15-8 showing in the third quarter, but it wasn’t able to come back into the affair following a 16-7 second.
Jake Benitz scored 16 for Newton (5-10).
Phillipsburg plays second-seeded Voorhees on Saturday.
